Works as advertised
Good
I was looking for a saddle mounted rear light option and came across this model by Rockbros. The build quality is very good; the light mounts snugly into its mount and the saddle clamp attached nicely to my Brooks saddle.
I have seen many previous versions/ brand of this light model before, however I believe this model is quite currently updated with its 4 light modes compared to 3 on the other older versions. I cannot compare brightness with the older models but I assume the 60 lumens brightness is still only activated when you are braking only. Under normal operation it seems to be only 1/3rd to 1/2 of its full brightness; meaning is roughly around ~ 20 – 30 lumens max.
Auto function only applies to the flash/breathing modes 1 and 2, so if you leave it on during a bright day, it won’t activate unless it gets dark. The other 2 modes will be on constantly (30 sec no movement still applies) regardless of how bright it is. I have yet to test if the brightness of the SOS mode will adjust to be brighter according to its ambient lighting (As vaguely mentioned in the manual).
Overall, the normal operating brightness could be brighter but overall its decent brightness for city usage. The best feature is its excellent build quality, quick braking activation sensor and battery life. If it upgrades its lumen brightness in future models it would definitely be ahead of its competing brands of smart rear lights with similar looks and functions.
